Impactful Reflections: Running My Life

Last night I ran 8km under a full moon. First night run in a while.

To be honest, I’ve been in a rut.

Work stress. Sleep out of sync. ADHD overwhelm.

Three days of no workouts — and feeling that familiar spiral.

But I’m learning to offer myself grace.

Not every stretch of the road needs to be fast.

Some days, you’re just finding your feet again.

What clicked last night was so simple:

Leaving the office, I saw traffic piling up.

A bolt ride 14kms home? Too pricey. But if I dropped off 8km before home? I’d save half the cost.

Just like that, the idea to run hit me.

Familiar route. Fresh motivation. Off I ran before I could change my mind.

Running gives me a rhythm when my mind’s in chaos.

It reminds me I’m not stuck. I’m moving.

So here’s to small wins.

To ADHD warriors.

To overwhelmed humans giving themselves permission to begin again.

Next target: 12–15km.

But last night? 8kms with the full moon was enough.
